Rain and strong winds hit Pidie Region

Saturday, June 7, 2025, rain accompanied by strong winds hit the Pidie district area, rain and strong winds lasted for approximately 1 hour.

Overcast with very black clouds had occurred since 11.30 WIB, but rain and strong winds only occurred around 14.00 WIB to 15.00 WIB, after the strong winds subsided at 15.00 WIB, the rain continued until the afternoon.

The rain that fell was very heavy, I had just come out of the shop to buy drinking water and soap and had to wait for the rain to ease off a bit.

The heavy rain forced motorcyclists to stop and take shelter for a while because they were not carrying raincoats, and for motorcyclists who were carrying raincoats, they continued their journey.

Heavy rain and strong winds mean that drivers, both motorcyclists and car drivers, have to be extra careful, because visibility is very limited and they have to drive slowly for safety.

Strong winds also caused rubbish to fly and become very scattered, the rubbish in front of the Pilar Mart Caleu shop, Indrajaya was very scattered by the wind.

Not only that, the rain accompanied by strong winds also caused trees to fall, one of which occurred in my village, where a fairly large and long areca nut tree fell and hit an electric cable.

The areca nut tree that fell on the electric cable almost broke the electric cable, the cable that was hit by the areca nut tree fell almost to the ground. Because it was very dangerous, I immediately contacted the PLN officer and made a report

30 minutes after I contacted him, PLN officers came to handle it, the officers cut and cleaned the areca nut tree that had fallen on the electric cable and then raised the electric cable back up.

PLN officers fixed everything within 30 minutes, and thank God everyone was safe and no one was injured.
