“Alpine Adventure” II
Photos of some of the flowers on display at the ‘Alpine Adventure’. There are over 50 varieties of Alpine and seasonal plants on exhibit. The flowers come in all colours, shapes and sizes, all very pretty and impressive. As usual, there were a lot of people at the display, posing and clicking away, soaking in the atmosphere and immersed in the display.
Tuberous begonias are a group of Begonia cultivars, sometimes regarded as some of the most spectacular of the genus. They are the stars of the display.
Tanacetum parthenium, known as feverfew, is a flowering plant in the daisy family, Asteraceae.
The Guernsey lily is the common name for Nerine sarniensis.
Cleome, commonly known as the Spider Flower, is named for the long, thin stamens that emerge from its flowers, like a spider's spindly legs!
Candle larkspur 'Guardian Lavender'
Antirrhinum, commonly known as dragon flowers of snapdragons because the flowers bear a resemblance to the face of a dragon
Apart from the flowers, the ‘Alpine Adventure’ also has lots of information on Switzerland’s iconic landmarks, and cultures. All very informative and interesting.
The display is now on until the 12th of October. The Flower Dome is open from 9am to 9pm. Admission fees apply. Adults pay $12 SGD, Seniors and children below 12 years old pay $8 SGD.
