Fair enough, but do you feel the same depth of love or emotional closeness toward your mother or any family member as you do toward your spouse? Losing a family member would hurt like hell, but losing a spouse is different because of the intimacy you shared.

My relationship with my mother is bad you could say it doesn't exist at all. And if I had to choose between my wife’s life and mine, I would, of course, choose to die myself. Not because it might sound noble or right from the outside, but because I probably wouldn’t be able to survive it. Because I’m weak. It’s better for one to go than for both.
