RE: Keeping a promise – book review of ‘The Soul Reset Journal’ by @peachyladiva / Einlösung eines Versprechens - Buchrezension "The Soul Reset Journal" von @peachyladiva
Wow.
Where do I even begin?
Reading this review made me pause, truly pause, and take a deep breath. Thank you, @weisser-rabe, not only for purchasing The Soul Reset Journal, but also for taking the time to sit with it, feel through it, and give it the kind of thoughtful attention that many authors can only dream of receiving.
You saw it. You saw me—not just the words, but the journey, the ache, the tiny flickers of hope tucked between the pages, and that means more to me than I can put into words.
You asked about my husband... yes, he read the journal. He was quiet at first, more concerned about what others might think of the vulnerability I shared than about the feelings behind it. But I don’t blame him. We’re both products of environments that often taught us to hide, to preserve image instead of exposing emotion. Still, I’ve seen a shift. These days, we talk more. We pause mid-chaos just to ask, “How are you, really?” It's not perfect, but healing is a slow dance, and at least we’re both still on the floor.
Your review gave me so much joy because it did what I hoped this journal would do: spark introspection, regardless of belief systems. The fact that you, someone who doesn’t fully identify with my faith expressions, could still connect with the core of the message tells me that maybe this little book did something right after all.
And yes, your layout advice is noted with all the humility in my heart 😅. I’ll definitely need help with that in the future, and your offer means the world. Truly.
Thank you for this beautiful reflection. I won't forget it in a hurry.
With all my heart,
Temilade (aka @peachyladiva)
It was a pleasure! I'm glad to read about the impact on your husband. Wish you all the best for your personal way!
Thank you!
