RE: Reflections and Progress: I'm Just an Anchor!

Maybe I'm being a bit dumb - but I still don't get what you mean by ‘an anchor’. So if you think your metaphor is self-evident, please give the blind man a clue as to what you see
;-)

Is it like this?

Anchorman (for women also anchorwoman, gender-neutral anchorperson or simply anchor) is the term used in the US for presenters or editors in a television studio who lead through a news programme and obtain comments from reporters on location or statements from interviewees.

A presenter! Or something like this

Actually, I was unsure about the response we would get with this initiative. So in my mind, I envisioned myself as someone who could keep things moving if they became stagnant. I also want to raise my own queries along the way. You could say it’s a work of collaboration, where I act as an assistant of sorts—or perhaps more like an anchor.

Yes, there's a favorite music show of mine where there is an anchor along with the main team, judges, and contestants.

Your role as a presenter will be to introduce, host (or co-host) a programme, create links between items, introduce and interview guests and interact with the audience sr

Something like this...
