Dignity is a complex concept; an intrinsic and inviolable value inherent in every human being that confers rights. It could easily be confused with pride and self-esteem, although the latter are attitudes that fluctuate among different individuals.

This is not the case with dignity, which, even if a person does not want it, they simply deserve it as a right that entitles them to be treated on equal terms with any other person, regardless of their social status, past, and actions. That is why it is the foundation of many laws around the world.

I believe that dignity is something that people never lose, even if they renounce it, because as it is a right of every individual, it becomes the way in which that person should be treated by others as their equal, even if they themselves do not want it.
