RE: Don't Give Up

in HeartChurch4 years ago

If there is one thing I have learned, it is that no two situations are ever the same (because no two lives are alike). I will explain it with an example:

Two ladies had a latest generation iPhone (same phone), both were crossing the same corner at the same time when the same criminal intercepted them and took both of their phones. So far it seems to be the same situation (unquestionably it is the same event and the same material loss that could also apply to the emotional).

But one of the ladies was poor and that phone was the only means she had to communicate with her son who was in another country, and she had no way to get another one.

The other one had a lot of money, so what had been taken from her was not very important because she could get a better phone just by putting her credit card in another place.

Moral: Even if two events are the same, they will not cause the same emotional impact in two different people because this depends on many other factors that are hardly the same in two people (type of life, personality, emotions, ways of thinking, ways of reacting).

You are very right, about telling someone else not to give up, it is something that we should only say to ourselves, to others we should say "how can I help you move forward". 🙂

That's some great lesson right there 🙌
