Saludos a los amantes del arte y de la escritura. Para esta edición 146, les traigo como invitado al artista plástico H. A. Brendekilde:

Brendekilde nació el 7 de abril de 1857 en Brændekilde, Municipio de Odense (Dinamarca). Era familiar lejano de Hans Christian Andersen, el escritor de cuentos de hadas. Provenía de una familia de muy bajos recursos. Su padre se dedicaba a hacer zuecos.

Desde los cuatro años vivió con sus abuelos.

Mientras era estudiante de primaria, su maestro notó de Brendekilde tenía talento para tallar madera. Por eso, cuando tenía 17 años. Es decir, entre los años 1871 hasta 1874, recibió clases de tallas de madera con el maestro Wilhelm Hansen.

En el año 1877 Brendekilde recibió clases de pintura con el maestro O. A. Hermansen, y ese mismo año fue seleccionado para ingresar a la Real Academia Danesa de Bellas Artes de Copenhague.

En el año 1881 egresó con honores de la Academia de Arte.

Brendekilde era un pintor realista que le gustaba reflejar en sus obras la cotidianidad que se vivía en los campos daneses.

Falleció el 30 de marzo de 1942, a los 84 años, en Jyllinge (Dinamarca).

<div Brendekilde was born on April 7, 1857, in Brændekilde, Odense Municipality, Denmark. He was a distant relative of Hans Christian Andersen, the fairy tale writer. He came from a very poor family. His father made clogs.

From the age of four, he lived with his grandparents.

While he was a primary school student, his teacher noticed Brendekilde's talent for woodcarving. Therefore, at the age of 17, that is, between 1871 and 1874, he took woodcarving lessons from the master Wilhelm Hansen.

In 1877, Brendekilde took painting lessons from O. A. Hermansen, and that same year he was selected to enter the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen.

In 1881, he graduated with honors from the Academy of Art.

Brendekilde was a realist painter who liked to reflect the everyday life of the Danish countryside in his works.

He died on March 30, 1942, at the age of 84, in Jyllinge (Denmark).
