They seek information about the first Impact recorded on Saturn

The image presented is of Saturn, it is not a James Webb image, it is an image taken by an amateur, an advanced amateur, but an amateur. Mario Rana from Virginia captured this image of Saturn on July 5, 2025. The flash is key because it is suspected that it is the impact of a comet or asteroid, although due to Saturn's orbit it is normal to see objects that have much more ice than rocks and therefore if they got a little closer to the sun they would be considered comets because they would begin to sublimate the ice and the tail and coma of the comet would form.

It would surely be a piece of a comet, possibly, possibly because, there is still the question of whether this photo is a photo error or has actually collected a real flash, that is why NASA and other astronomer organizations are asking all amateurs for images of this moment, of this day, to compare and see if they also have that flash in the same area, if it is a camera failure, it would only appear in this photo, but if more photos come out, obviously it would be a real impact.

Saturn is a gas giant, it does not have as much mass as Jupiter, but even so, just as Jupiter serves as a shield against objects that come from beyond Saturn, from the Kuiper belt, from the Oort cloud, they swallow quite a few comets. If not, they would end up reaching the area where the Earth is, it is believed that several objects measuring 140 meters or more, which we consider here to be potentially dangerous for the Earth, impact Saturn every year, but we have never seen one in action, we have seen it on Jupiter when that shattered comet collided, creating tremendous impacts, but not on Saturn, not yet.

Jupiter and Saturn are two shields, they are two older brothers that we have that protect us from many comets that come from the regions of the Kuiper belt, the Oort cloud and receive impacts, Jupiter is the most, but Saturn too. What happens is that this could be the first one that we have captured and that is why NASA is asking fans to compare other images of this moment, we do not have a James Webb who is constantly pointing at Saturn or Jupiter at the planets. No, unfortunately there isn't, that would be very expensive.

The large observatories, both in space and on the ground, have an agenda, a work calendar and they have to change from one objective to another to carry out research, which is why in the end these flashes, these events are almost always captured by amateurs as in this case.
