It would be interesting to see if such a plant could be trained to use the arm to signal a request for water or sunlight.
Water the plant more frequently when the arm is in one position and less frequently when it's not, and see if the plant "learns" to put the arm into the "watering" position when it needs water and moves it to another position when it has enough water.
That's interesting use for that gizmo. The Machete is a nice touch, tho: Feed me human or I'll stab you!
