I don't see it mentioned here, but I think I remember that seabirds often eat the turtle hatchlings. If so, I wonder if drones could be used to chase the birds away (and whether that would be wise, or if it might have unintended consequences in the bird population.)

You're right, but as far as I remember that happens with sea turtles and these are river turtles.

Still, it'd be interesting to take a look or ask a turtletologist.
