Colorful night immersion
I realized one unpleasant thing here: the wave of reporting that has engulfed me in the last couple of years is gradually depriving me of the present... Reportage is self–serving and egotistical, no matter how you look at it.
Many years ago, during the first signs of reportage, I began to say that reportage photography is a sport, it is a competitive effect of "who will do better and faster", it is also an internal competition to prove something to myself.
Self-love and selfishness consumed me so much that all genres were eventually affected by it.
The only positive side is that I have taken a lot of high-quality and interesting pictures for exhibitions, publications and widespread mass use.
But there's a lot less of me in all of this.
There is still a glimmer of my inner innermost and personal self in the dugouts.
Even the street became a reportage, so that everyone would like it...so that all these pictures can be taken to public media and put their own news to them.
It's good and it needs to be done, no matter how you look at it, this is my main job!
But my inner space is closed somewhere, lost.
And I know why, and it's inevitable: these are life and creative cycles.
According to my calculations, 2023 was the most mystical, mysterious and personal year, in which there was a very small percentage of reportage.
Then the cycle changed smoothly and the next one will be only around 2026-27.
I really didn't want to lose this cosmic state, but nature is stronger...I just have to wait.
It's happened more than once, so I was able to figure it out and recognize it.
And now I need to disconnect from the big news wave for a while! Otherwise, I'll burn out....I've already written about this a hundred times.
Even in this post, there is a sense of reportage: in search of night color scenes, I partially wanted to capture the renovation of Koneva Street...
