Darkness, Silence, and Solitude: My Comfort Zone

Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.

Every human being has a different mindset. Some people love bright lights, some enjoy crowds, and some seek silence and solitude. In my personal life, I have developed a habit of finding peace in darkness, quiet places, and being alone. For many, this may sound strange, but to me, darkness is not just the absence of light—it is a source of calm, comfort, and inner freedom.

After a long day filled with noise, office pressure, traffic jams, and endless human interactions, I crave a little piece of silence and darkness. Keeping the lights off at home during the night makes me feel at ease. It helps me detach from the chaos outside and reconnect with myself. Even at the office, whenever possible, I try to keep the lights dim or off, because darkness gives me focus and helps me concentrate.

Sometimes, I go for walks on deserted roads at night. The dim streetlights in the distance, the quiet trees around me, and the empty pathway create a world of their own. In that moment, I feel like it’s just me and the silence around me—no noise, no crowd, no distractions. Many people are scared of darkness, but for me, it is a space of security and freedom.

Crowds, loud voices, and chaotic environments do not appeal to me. I do not enjoy big families, noisy gatherings, or virtual social circles. That is why I rarely visit my village home—maybe once or twice a year. I prefer keeping my distance from unnecessary social interactions.

Gradually, silence has become a big part of my lifestyle. I don’t talk much, and I don’t like wasting time on meaningless things. Instead, I try to use my time for myself—reading, walking, or reflecting on my thoughts. These simple activities give me more satisfaction than any crowd or celebration could ever provide.

Now, the question arises—Is this a bad side of me, or is it a good one? To me, it depends on perspective. Some people can’t stand loneliness; they fear darkness and dislike silence. For them, my habits may seem odd or even negative. But from my point of view, it’s not harmful at all. I don’t hurt anyone by living this way; rather, I find peace within myself.

Being alone doesn’t necessarily mean being lonely. There is joy in solitude if you learn how to embrace it. Darkness may be fear for many, but for me, it is simply another form of light—a light that shines inside the mind, not outside. Escaping from noise and sinking into silence is my way of finding inner clarity and strength.

For me, darkness, silence, and solitude are not weaknesses. They are sanctuaries for my mental peace. The noisier the world becomes, the more I long for quiet moments to myself. This is not a bad habit—it is a natural part of my personality and a way to stay balanced. In a world full of endless noise, I choose the calmness of the night and the comfort of silence.

Thanks all
