In Search of a Moment of Peace on the Rooftop.
Hello dear friends,
I hope you all are doing well and spending a beautiful life with your loved ones. I wish you all happiness and peace.
Today was my weekly day off. After a whole week of hustle and bustle, this one day of rest feels like a huge relief. After all the pressure of work and the daily struggles, when a holiday comes, it feels as if the world has slowed down a little. But a day off doesn’t always mean complete relaxation; today too started with some chores.
The morning began with household work. Two buckets of laundry had piled up, so early in the day I rolled up my sleeves and got to work. Washing clothes by hand is tiring, but there’s a sense of satisfaction in it too. After finishing, I took the clothes to the rooftop to dry, and that’s when the surroundings caught my eye. The city’s chaos, countless buildings, and the busy roads—all together created a different kind of feeling inside me.
The sun was blazing today. The heat had risen since morning because of the strong sunlight. Drying clothes wasn’t a problem at all; the sun made the job easier. After finishing everything, I freshened up and took a short nap in the afternoon. There’s a special kind of joy in an afternoon nap on a holiday—it feels like every part of your body gets to rest.
Before evening, I went to the rooftop. My only purpose—to escape the heat for a while. Standing there, I looked as far as my eyes could see. The blue sky dotted with light clouds, the shimmering city lights—all of it felt refreshing. But there was a lack of wind. A light breeze passed by occasionally, but it wasn’t enough to feel truly cool.
I had Nusaiba with me. She ran around like a little fairy. The laughter and playfulness of a child bring so much peace—it’s hard to put into words. We spent quite a while on the rooftop together. This time felt like a piece of serenity to me. In the midst of daily chaos, such moments are something we all need.
While standing there, gazing at everything around me, I realized—the city never stops. Hundreds of cars were rushing down the road, everyone busy with their own tasks. Every car, every person seemed to be racing against time. Amidst this scene, I was searching for my own quiet space.
I grabbed my phone and took some photos. The buildings, the busy roads, and the distant sky—all framed into pictures. Photography feels like therapy to me. If you can find beauty even in the middle of city chaos, life becomes a little easier.
Today reminded me once again—it’s the little moments that bring the biggest joy in life. Maybe I didn’t go on a trip or spend time in a fancy restaurant, but those few hours on the rooftop refreshed me mentally.
Amid the noise of life, we all need to carve out some time for ourselves. A moment where we can find peace, spend time with family, and feel closer to nature—even if it’s just from the rooftop of our own home.
Thanks all
