Meet: Eco-Lens Map: Uniting Nature Observations. CCS on the map!
Meet Eco-Lens MapGreetings, CCS campers and nature lovers. We are very excited to introduce a new collaborative project for the Camping Club Steemit Community. We have created the Eco-Lens Map on Google My Maps where we can compile and share all our nature observations in a visual and interactive way.
What is Eco-Lens Map? |

The Eco-Lens Map is a tool, a personalized map to unite us and share our passions (Photography + Nature). It's a way to give our publications an investigative and scientific dimension and demonstrate that nature is alive, waiting to be discovered by all of us.
Why this Eco-lens Map? |

✅ 1. The purpose is to create a space where we can learn about and admire the biodiversity that Steemians have been reporting in their publications, and to take advantage of their photographic talent, both amateur and professional.
✅ 2. We will learn together: We will be able to see where and what other members of the community are observing. It's an interactive way to discover new species and be inspired.
✅ 3. We will do science: By including the location (geographic coordinates) of our photos, we are helping to create a real record of wildlife. It's a simple but powerful way for Steem to contribute to science and biodiversity conservation.
And why not on Steem Atlas?
😭😞🙏Unfortunately, Steem Atlas doesn't have a category for biodiversity observations, nor does it have the ability to view these observations in a single place. Whether it's your PC or your mobile device, from the web or Google My Maps. However, we'll be keeping an eye on this type of update in Steem Atlas to build synergy with it.
How does it work?
Initially, @joslud will manage the Eco-Lens map, verifying the quality of the observations submitted by Steemians interested in participating and filling out the description of each observation. Volunteers will later be accepted to help with this verification.
How do I access the Eco-Lens Map?
🔎 1. Open the Eco-Lens map of the Camping Club Steemit Community.
🔎 2. Click on one of the observations.
🔎3. You can read the information, view the photos, or go to the original posts on Steemit or iNaturalist.
🔎4. You can also access the sources consulted by our observer.

It's very easy. We have the weekly ECO-LENS contest, where you can post weekly. If your post is quality, I'll let you know when it's posted, and you might even win the challenge.
Super simple. Every time you post a wildlife observation, it could also appear on our map.

I'm planning to include both animals and plants (zoology and botany). But we're just getting started with the project, and I don't want to cover too much. We'll focus on invertebrates for a while, starting this week.
