Greetings, CCS friends. I'm very happy with the new house I live in. It has a beautiful garden and a large patio. A whole universe of insects, plants, and flowers.

As you know, I like to take close-up photos with my cell phone, seeking to emulate macro photography. To do this, I try to get as close as possible to what I want to photograph. Today I bring you some close-ups of the oregano plant and flowers.

Photo N° 1 Oregano (Origanum).

Oregano is native to the Mediterranean, between Greece and the African continent. Its name could be translated from Greek as "mountain joy." It is a shrub widely used in cooking as a fragrant herb, and also for its medicinal uses.

Its tiny flowers, measuring 1 to 3 millimeters, are arranged in clusters along the branches of the plant, especially toward the tips. Its white, pink, and yellow flowers are very beautiful and are used in cooking, along with the leaves and seeds.

In these photos, I achieved a close-up view where the small flowers stand out. You can see their shapes and that they don't all ripen at the same time.

Oregano contains very important aromatic oils, among which phenols stand out. It has many medicinal uses due to its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, and antifungal properties.

Photo N° 5 Scientific name: Origanum vulgare

Family: Lamiaceae
Genus: Origanum

Its leaves have a very aromatic scent; they are oval, pointed, and hairy. It is used both green and dried. They help add a great flavor to meat and vegetable dishes. In the second photo, I used my finger as a reference image, and you can see the size of the branches and flowers.

For editing, I used Lightroom, which consisted of improving the colors and lighting. I also cropped several photos to better frame them.
