Competitor Content Research
As a youtuber it is very important to do research on the content of the competitors. It gives new insights for the content creation. It really helps to boost the content and to check how the competitors are publishing their videos and how they are getting attention of the viewers and how can I follow the competitors methods to get same attention to my content.
Sometimes our content is more valuable than the competitors but we do not have skills and way to promote and publish our content in a way so that it can look interesting and attract the audience. Similarly the competitors who publishes the same content but with different strategies such as following eye-catching thumbnail and clear audio and other important factors such as good quality of the video get more attention and views.
I have chosen review niche and I will explore the competitor youtubers's content to understand what they are doing unique and how can I compete with them or try to get attention of he people like them.
I have chosen Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) as the first youtube channel. It has the same niche as my chosen niche. This is a big channel with a lot of subscribers. There is really a great reason behind this great fame so I can learn many things from this youtber. This channel shares technology reviews.
Here are the three interesting things regarding this channel which I have observed.
1. Professional Thumbnail
Each video thumbnail of this channel is very simple and clean without any mess. The thumbnail shows the product clearly. Each thumbnail has bold text or colour background. I noticed the short videos have thumbnail with bold text. The other longer videos almost have thumbnail without text but with a clear picture of the product.

2. Clear Way of Speaking
The most important thing in the videos which I have noticed is the clear way of speaking. It helps to understand the voice easily for the audience. It provides easy to understand explanations. All these qualities of the voice make it very easy to understand all the technology related information.Marques speaks confidently without any hesitation.
3. High-Quality Editing
The editing of the videos is very important element to attract the audience and retain their attention until the end of the video. In this channel I can see the video editing is very professional and good quality. The transitions are very smooth. The shots of the products are very well-lit. There is the usage of the background music which matches the tine of the video.
What I can imitate or develop
By seeing the qualities of Marques Brownlee (MKBHD) channel I would like to intimate and develop the following things:
I can design simple and clear thumbnails. In order to create these thumbnails I can use Canva and I can focus on the image of the product and simple text.
I will practice to speak clearly. I will explain the features in the clear and simple words. It will help the audience to understand my words and understand the review completely.
Moreover to enhance my experience further and to engage the audience in the best way I can use free editing apps such as CapCut or VN. In this way my videos will become more engaging and smooth without costly equipment.
I have chosen Tech Spurt as the second channel. This channel also has same niche as my chosen one. So I will focus on the videos of this channel and I will conclude my observance.
Here are the three interesting things regarding this channel which I have observed.
1. Humorous Presentation
I have noticed very important thing in the videos of this channel that the reviews of the videos have humorous impact. The creator of the videos always add light humour in the videos while reviewing the products. This thing keeps the audience entertained.
2. Detailed Comparisons
The videos of this channel include detailed comparisons. The creator often compares the product with more than one similar gadgets within one video. It helps the viewers to watch different products in one video and they can easily choose which fits them best.
3. Consistent Style
As we know that consistency in the work is the key to success and I have observed consistency in the videos of this creator. He follows a proper and consistent format of the videos such as at first he gives introduction then review and after that he quotes pros and cons of the product. At the end he adds final verdict of the product.
What I can imitate or develop
I can intimate many things from this channel for my reviews of the videos. Here are some ideas which I can intimate and develop for myself:
I will try my best to make my reviews ore engaging and interesting by adding humour regarding the review of the product. I will also use relatable comments.
I can create videos which provides comparisons of the products such as two products in the same category. It will engage the viewers to get information about two products in one video so that they can easily compare and decide about one product.
I will maintain a consistent structure for my each video. I will add introduction at the beginning of the video with a fixed slogan. Then in the middle part of the video I will add the main review about the product. Then before finishing the video I will add summary or conclusion of the review. Then I will good bye the users leaving their decision on themselves about the product.
Three Video Title Ideas and Short Description
The title of the videos and the short description of the videos is very important part for the growth and success as a youtuber. SEO is the most important part to rank the videos on the top page. So if our title and description is catchy ad very relevant to the demand and searches by the users then we can have more views and audience to our video.
I will give three title ideas based on my chosen niche and then I will also add description of the video based on those titles.
Title 1
- Budget vs Premium: Which Earbuds Are Really Worth It?
Description
- In this video I compare two pairs of earbuds. One is a budget-friendly and one is a premium earbud. I will try to find out which gives better value for money. You will see the sound test and comfort comparison. You will see my honest opinion to help you choose the right one.
Title 2
- Top 5 Smartphones Under $300 – Honest Review & Ranking!
Description
- This video reviews and ranks five popular smartphones under $300. I will discuss their properties such as camera quality, performance, and battery life. At the end I will reveal which one is the best option for the everyday users according to my opinion.
Title 3
- Trying the Viral Smart Mug – Is It Really Worth the Hype?
Description
- I test a trending smart mug that promises to keep your drink hot all day. So it is for all of you who are interesting to know about this smart mug. Watch till the end to see my real experience. I will share what I liked and what I did not. I will speak about whether it is worth buying or just another overhyped gadget.
These all titles are short, clear, and to the point by keeping in view review niche. Each description clearly tells what the viewer will get in the video such as review, honest opinions, advice, and recommendations.
Script Writing for a Video
Script of the video is the biggest weapon of a youtuber or creator to engage their audience and to retain their attention in the video. If the video is of high quality and editing is also amazing but if the script of the video is not good then it will not be able to get attention of the viewers.
From all the three discussed titles in the task 2 I have chosen Top 5 Smartphones Under $300 – Honest Review & Ranking!

At number 5 we have the Xiaomi Redmi Note 12. It offers a beautiful AMOLED display and strong battery life. However the camera is just average in low light. But it is still a great option for the casual users.
Number 4 is the Samsung Galaxy A14. What I like most in this phone is the software experience. It feels smooth and reliable. But yes it is not for gaming lovers because the processor is mid-range.
Number 3 goes to the Poco M5. This phone delivers impressive performance for its price. If you are a gaming person then it is the best option for you. The design of the phone is also stylish and modern.
At number 2 we have the Realme Narzo 60. The camera results are surprisingly good of this mobile. The charging speed is really very fast. It is one of the best balanced phones under $300.
And finally at number 1, the champion is the Infinix Zero 30. It gives you a great camera. It has a smooth 120Hz display. It has a premium design. Honestly this one feels like a mid-range phone at a budget price with all the reasonable features and modern design.
