The Diary Game: May 23rd 2025, the Busy Day
At about 5:34 AM, I woke up and got out of bed, feeling refreshed and ready to take on the day. I took a few moments to pray to God, expressing my gratitude for another day and seeking guidance for the challenges ahead. With a sense of purpose, I headed to the bathroom to get myself and the kids ready for the day. We brushed our teeth, washed our bodies, and got dressed for the morning ahead.
After we finished preparing ourselves, we headed to the kitchen for breakfast. My wife had prepared a delicious meal, and we enjoyed it together as a family. With our bellies full, I headed out to drop the kids off at school.
Navigating through the long traffic, I managed to drop the kids off at school safely. I took a deep breath, relieved that we had made it on time despite the congestion. With my duty fulfilled.
I proceeded to my office, where I attended to my work duties. There were piles of paperwork and tasks to complete, but I tackled them with focus and determination.
As the afternoon approached, I was expecting my friend and partner to arrive at my office. We had a meeting scheduled with the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism at the State Secretariat, and we needed to head there soon. Before we left, I decided to stop by the UBA bank to make some withdrawals. As I arrived, I noticed that they were celebrating UBA African Culture Day. I couldn't resist taking photos with some of the staff, who were dressed in traditional attire.
With my withdrawal done, I headed to the State Secretariat to meet with the Commissioner. However, when we arrived at her office, we were informed that she had accompanied the Governor to a commissioning ceremony. We were disappointed, but we didn't let it deter us. We headed back to my office, where we spent some time discussing our next steps.
As the day drew to a close, it was already 5:00 PM, I tidied up my desk, packed up my belongings, and left the office. The traffic was lighter now, and I made my way home quickly. As I arrived, I felt a sense of relief wash over me. I freshened up, had dinner with my family, and felt safe and content in my home. Before long, I drifted off to sleep, feeling grateful for another day lived with purpose.
