New Contest: My Worst Money Mistake

Greetings from me, @destinedhanik, dearest members of colombia-original. It's good to be here. So today, we are talking about money mistakes, a very important topic by @josevas217. I have made few money mistakes tho one stands out for me, so welcome on board as I take you through my money mistakes.

Due to the fact that I use data a lot, I prefer registering in sites and investing money in that site for airtime abd data. So I had been using a particular site for over a year, but there was always discrepancies in their services. It was always either the money is taken and my account wasn't credited with data or airtime and even if I report to their customer care, they took days to respond, or if they respond, it would be a negative response. So all these made me to look out for another site to invest in.

So I looked for other sites and I stumbled ob this one with very affordable data rates, that should have given me warning signals as it was too cheap but I ignored abd decided to invest in them.

The site I made a money mistake

I was scammed of a total of 15,000 naira, that is ten thousand naira, equivalent to the price of 76 Steem. This was the financial mistake that cost me the most. This mistake robbed me of my peace. When I registered with the site, I invested 2000 naira, and when I wanted to make a transaction, I was told 2000 was too small that the least is 5000, so I added 3000. And then I decided to make a transaction again, I was told another thing and in order to get my money back, I continued dancing to their tune and ended up loosing 15000 naira.

I would be wiser and be able to decipher their fraud by their inconsistency in words. What I would do differently is that I would go on social media and check people's comment about the site, and I'll learn from there. Another thing I would do differently is that I would rather lose the 2000 rather than trying to use more money to gain back my 2000 therefore resulting in loss of more money.

If I had done my research, I would have learnt from other people's experience.

The mistake I made was due to the fact that I wanted something good in a cheap rate. Itt was also due to lack of carrying out research or investigation on the site before investing. I can't blame anyone for my loss rather I Blane myself for deciding to go for the cheapest rate of data. When something is too cheap than its supposed to be, it might be that there is something wrong with that thing.

The things I would tell someone to avoid making my sake mistake is

• Do not be deceived by how affordable something s, it might be a scam. Do an investigation using social media before sending any money. You can learn from other's mistakes.

• It is better to lose a small amount of money than try to use a big amount to recover small amount, so don't make that mistake.

I learnt some positive lessons from my mistake which has helped me since then.

• Never to rush into any site that I dint do research on. All that glitters is not gold.

• It is better to stick with an expensive but good service than a cheap service where I'll be scammed.
