Hi Sol! I agree with your definition and assessment of majority behaviour. Personally, I find it incredibly amusing and satisfying to give something away and explicitly expect nothing in return, no equivalent gift, no thank you. That's what makes gift-giving fun. Not when it's a conventional chore! You know at least one other person here on Steem who sees it exactly the same way (or even more extreme, who knows ;-))) Furthermore, someone who gives me a gift should not expect something equivalent in return. Too bad for those who count on it...
