RE: Danielle Steele: The Mistress

in ART LOVERS6 years ago

I don't think there's one that is exceptional. I have read some many years ago when I was younger but all are the same, not worth the time. All the stories are pretty much the same. She's writing for money, look at the quantity of her books. 5 books in a year? You can't produce quality at that speed.

Sort:

That is kind of what i suspected. There must be some people out there that really like the formula that she has created because despite the fact that it is essentially the same story over and over.... she sell millions every single time.

You're right, there's a category that likes her books. I was wondering the same thing till I met someone who was crazy about Danielle Steele. Her marriage was basically over, she was an emotional wrack and I guess this was like a refuge to her, gave her a few hours of dreaming about happiness. Can't explain otherwise. Life is very different though, we all know that.
Don't waste time with her books :)

ooooh, that is a tragic explanation of a fan :( but probably not too off the mark. I think Steel's books might give some people unrealistic expectations about romance. The mistress involves multiple billionaires and really successful artists, all who shower their women with lavish gifts and attention.
