“Contest : Monsoon season in Bangladesh”
Assalamu Alaikum..!!
My Dear Friends,
I am @jannatakter24 from #Bangladesh 🇧🇩
Hello my dear Steemit friends. First of all, take my love and best regards. How are you all? Hope you all will be happy and well . Alhamdulillah I am also well by the grace of Allah. Welcome to my new post. I am back with a new post again.I hope everyone will like my new post Today I here to participate in “Contest : Monsoon season in Bangladesh” competetion. First. of all I would like to thanks @tammanna for organizing a beautiful competition. Today I will discuss the monsoon season in Bangladesh. Now I will share you.So friends,Let's start
1.Explain the importance of the monsoon season in Bangladesh.
Bangladesh is a country of six seasons. Since Bangladesh is a temperate country, each season is very important for this country. Nature takes a different form in each season in Bangladesh. The importance of the monsoon is immense among all the seasons. The biggest reason for this is that Bangladesh is an agriculturally dependent country. And the main ingredient of agricultural production in this country is water. Which we get from the rain water of most of the monsoons. Usually, there are four months of monsoon from June to September.
The main ingredient of agricultural work is water. Which I collect from the rain of the monsoon. The rain that falls during the monsoon accumulates in rivers, canals, and ponds. And this water is used in agricultural work. Rainwater is needed to produce crops such as rice, jute, vegetables, sugarcane, etc., which is supplied during the monsoon. Rainwater increases the fertility of the soil. If crops are cultivated on that soil, the crops become abundant. In the monsoon rain, the plants are clean and nature becomes evergreen. Rainwater keeps the soil moist, forests and plants become green. This protects biodiversity and keeps the environment healthy. During the monsoon, new water increases in rivers, canals, canals, and haors. As a result, fish production increases. Fish production provides livelihood to millions of people in the country. Therefore, it can be said that the importance of the monsoon season in Bangladesh is immense.
2.Discuss the problems that we observe in the agricultural sector due to flash floods due to excessive rainfall.
Due to excessive rainfall and flash floods, we face various problems in the agricultural sector. We face various problems such as crop damage, destruction of crop land, destruction of cultivated land, animal feed and agricultural crisis. Due to sudden floods, crop land is submerged, which causes huge loss to seasonal crops. As the crops are submerged under water in the flood, the crop powder rots and is destroyed. As a result, farmers face huge financial losses. Due to excessive rainfall and flash floods, transportation and communication systems are damaged, due to which farmers cannot take their field crops to the market. Many times, crops are damaged in the field, due to which farmers face huge losses due to excessive rainfall and flash floods. Due to floods, there is a shortage of hay, grass, etc. in the livestock sector, in addition, the prices of vegetables and agricultural products increase in the market due to flash floods and rainfall. Due to waterlogging in the land, soil fertility decreases, which results in reduced crop production. As a result, farmers face financial losses. Due to excessive rainfall, flash floods cause huge losses in the agricultural sector.
3.Share your views on the problems we see in the agricultural sector due to drought and excessive rainfall.
Drought
During drought, there is a lack of necessary water in the land, which results in problems in crop cultivation. As a result, soil moisture decreases. Due to this, the land becomes hard. Crop cultivation is hampered. Due to excessive drought, irrigation cannot be given to the land, therefore seeds cannot germinate. Due to drought, farmers have to spend extra money on irrigation. Which weakens the financial condition of the farmer.
Excessive rainfall
Due to excessive rainfall, the land is flooded. Due to which the roots of the crops are damaged and rotted. Due to heavy rainfall, not only the crops in the field are damaged, but also the crops in the farmer's house are damaged. Heavy rainfall causes floods. Therefore, due to water stagnation in the land for a long time, the fertility of the soil is destroyed.
In my opinion, modern agricultural technology should be used to solve these problems. Make arrangements to store water during drought. Cultivate drought-tolerant crops. Use irrigation technology. Keep drains and sewers clean because water accumulates during excessive rainfall. Clean roads and ghats. Cultivate flood-tolerant crops. It is important to cultivate flood-tolerant crops so that the roots of the crops do not get damaged due to water stagnation in the flood water. Through the above steps, we can deal with natural disasters like excess rainfall and drought.
