Some benefits of using Organic fertilizers to support plants growth

Plants growth and its yield depends on how fertile the land is. Soil fertility is enhanced through the application of either organic or inorganic fertilizers. Plants that are supplied with either of the fertilizers produces a better yield than the ones without fertilizers. This is to show how important fertilizers are, for farmers.

I have a small poultry farm. In that poultry farm, I raise some broilers for sale. This poultry farming business is highly tasking comes with some risks associated with it. On the positive side, it is quite a lucrative business with a high returns on investment. That is by the way.

The broilers in my poultry farm produces carcass, or better known as dungs. I don't throw away the carcass of the birds as it is a very useful manure. Also, unless I have gathered enough, I don't give it out or sell them out. The reason to this is that I have different little portions of land that I plant different types of crops. So I make sure that I have supplied my crops with this manure before I let it out.

Having this organic manure saves me some money compared to wholly using the inorganic manures that are costly to obtain.

I normally clean my poultry farm twice a week. I bag the carcass from the farm and allow it to decompose properly before applying them to the plants.

As it gradually decomposes, I mix it with the inorganic fertilizer that I bought. Some of the plants that I apply the fertilizer includes:

• Cassava
• Vegetable
• Maize plant
  These are the three major plants that use the fertilizer for.

Due to the yearly planting of crops on the same land and in order not to allow the soil to depreciate in nutrients, I ensure that the fertilizer is always ready and handy. This would make the plants to grow well and produce good yields.

Although I combine the synthetic and organic fertilizers to enhance crop yields, the organic fertilizers could be used alone and still make the plants to produce good yields. To this effect, here are some of the reasons why the organic fertilizers should be used:

• It aids plants for strong root development
• **It enables the soil to release a steady nutrients that last for longer time than the inorganic fertilizers.
• Soil with organic fertilizers tend to store more water.
• It makes the soil more healthier for plants growth

I pay more attention to generate more of the organic manure by the establishment this my little poultry farm. I intend to expand the poultry farm a little more so that I can add more chicks. While I would be making some money from selling the chicks, I can now have more manure which would be generated by the chicks. By this, more manure will be available for me to supply the plants enough nutrients into the soil.

While I do crop farming, I also have a small poultry pen where I rear some chicks in small quantity. When I have more money, I intend to expand it. Although it hasn't been easy to do both, seek for laborers to assist me in my crop farming especially in the area of weeding.

As farmers, let's not just rely or depend on synthetic fertilizer. Using the organic fertilizer is also beneficial.
