What do you understand by Irrigation systems.

Irrigation systems mean well-organized involves the practice of showering crops and plants with water in order to stimulate their growth particularly in regions where rains are not enough or in regions where rains are unpredictable. They also contribute a lot into the agricultural industry and are reported to provide the sufficient moisture to the plants when they need it, in order to grow well. Various irrigations systems exist and they are surface, sprinkler system, drip irrigation, subsurface irrigation and all irrigation systems have a kind of crop, type of soil and climate that is appropriate.

Irrigation has enhanced yield of crops, food security, livestock rearing and rural living. It is also possible to use irrigation systems with water-saving measures to reduce drought, annual year round agriculture and sustainable methods of agriculture that are not only favourable to the farmers but also the environment.

Discuss on the Types of Irrigation systems.

These different types of irrigation systems are predefined by the way of water supply to crops. A surface irrigation, which is one of the ancient methods of irrigation, entails water passing over the ground because of the level, commonly used when the field is even. Sprinkler irrigation- Sprinkler irrigation is the method of spraying water on a piece of land under pressure through sprinkler pipes and mimic the rainfall and can be applied in most classes of crops. The most effective one is drip irrigation that saves water and fertilizers as it dispenses water in slow steps and directly to the roots of the plant through pipe and emitters.

Subsurface irrigation involves delivery of water to the soil beneath the surface and the deep roots are reached by water and evaporation is reduced. Such systems are associated with advantages and limitations and the choice of a particular one depends on the kind of soil, demands of agriculture, availability of water, and economic factors of agricultural activity.

What are the Importance of Irrigation systems in Agriculture.

These irrigation systems are rather significant in the agricultural industry as they can guarantee that all crops will get water in all circumstances despite rain patterns. They help farmers produce food throughout the year and in dry seasons to raise their food production and profits. Irrigation enhances crop yield, quality, reduced risks related to crops failure caused by drought. It has also facilitated the cultivation of crops with high water needs such as rice, sugarcane and vegetables in the low rainfall regions.

Moreover, irrigation systems are useful in controlling the fertility of the soil, the fertilize use and the weed. Irrigation contributes a lot to food security, rural development and sustainable agricultural practices by helping farmers produce livestock feeds and find water sources so they can carry out farming in an international scale.

Hola
Existen varios tipos de riego que benefician a las plantas, algunos de ellos son muy ahorrarivos como es el riego por goteo.
Te deseo éxitos
