The systems of the irrigation are important in the agricultural systems, as such these systems enable the artificial application of the water to the crops to make the growth of the crops effective and efficient. The irrigation systems are important in those regions and areas where the rainfall is unpredictable and it is very important to make sure that the plants receive the essential moisture for the growth and development of the plants.

There are numerous types of the irrigation systems and each type has its own unique benifits and disadvantages.The oldest method of the irrigation is the surface irrigation systems which involves the use the flooding fields to distribute the water to the crops.

It is a simple method of the irrigation but it can be inefficient because of the water loss by the process of the evaporation and runoff.This kind of the irrigation delivers water to the roots of the plants directly to through burried pipes.

Sprinkler systems of the irrigation stimulate the rainfall by spraying the water over the plants. These systems are considered more effective and efficient than the surface irrigation.

The third important and most efficient method of the irrigation is the drip irrigation, it delivers water directly to the roots of the plants by using a pipe network. In this the loss of the water minimises, and this also make sure that the plants are receiving good amount of the water they need.

There are several methods on which the choice of the irrigation systems depends such as which type of the crops, which kind of the soil is , and what are the conditions of the climate, and the how much water is available.The crops which have shallow root system like crops of the vegetables may benifits from the drip irrigation system , but those crops which have deep system of the roots may benifits from the sprinkler system of the irrigation.

The kind of the soil affect the retention of the water and can affect the method of the irrigation. The conditions of the climate like changes in the temperature can affect the rates of the evaporation of the water.The properly managed systems of the irrigation can increase the yields of the crops and can improve the efficiency of the use of the water.

The systems of irrigation play important role in the field of the agriculture impacting the production of the crops, resources and overall sustainability of the agricultural systems.These systems are important for the security of the food because such systems provide a reliable supply of the water particularly in the arid and semi arid regions. This source of the water helps to increase the productivity of the crops which is important for the feed of the increasing population.

The productivity of the crops increases by the irrigation systems. When we will provide the right amount of the water to the plants at the exact time of the need, then these systems increase the growth of the plants.The water is very important in the process of the photosynthesis, in the uptake of the nutrients and overall health of the plants.

The modern systems of the irrigation are designed in such ways that the water loss will be minimum and these systems deliver water directly to the roots of the plants.The systems of the irrigation are helpful to grow a wide range of the crop varieties. These are benifical in improving the income of the farms.
