Domestic animals live among us, and animals like goat, fowl, cows, etc are domestic animals. These animals, when it comes to the rainy season, which is usually the season of farming, aren't allowed to move about freely in my community, so they wouldn't go about destroying people's crops.

These animals have been held in their room and fed very well until the dry season or when the harvesting season is over, before they can be allowed to walk freely in my community. In the community, people were living so happily, going about their farming activities, until Fulani herdsmen visited the community with their cows.

At first, when the Fulani people came into the community seeking a place to stay, they were warned not to carry their cows to people's farmland, and they agreed to live by the community's rules and regulations. They were given a vast land to stay with their cows so that the cows can grow healthy.

Things were going peacefully between the Fulanis and the people in the community. It was unfortunate that after some months of the Fulani people living in the community, they forgot their agreement with the community and started moving their cows about in the community during the farming season, which destroyed so many farmlands.

The issue became a serious issue that the community could no longer tolerate, and had to send the Fulani people away before banning the open grazing of animals in the community.
