Today I am participating in the Basic Knowledge in Agriculture #48 competition in the Steem agro community. Agriculture is the mainstay of our country's economy. It plays an important role in crop production, animal husbandry and maintaining the balance of the environment. In today's post, I will share my knowledge about irrigation systems.

Irrigation system is a planned process through which sufficient water is supplied to agricultural land. It is helpful in crop growth, improved production and maintaining soil fertility. Providing water at the right time and in sufficient quantity can reduce crop diseases and damage. Irrigation systems are important not only for crops but also for the environment and the agricultural community.

*Surface irrigation: Water is directly applied to the land. This is the most common method. Water is delivered to the crops through canals or ditches.

*Drip irrigation: Water is supplied slowly to the roots of the crop. It is very effective in saving water and preventing soil erosion.

*Subsurface irrigation: Water is supplied from below the soil, which directly benefits the roots of the crop and reduces evaporation.

Increases crop production. Helpful during drought or low rainfall. Maintains soil fertility. Reduces crop diseases and damage. Ensures food security and has a positive impact on the country's economy. Therefore, irrigation is essential in agriculture. It not only ensures crop development but also ensures the continuity of the country's agricultural development. By adopting improved irrigation systems, farmers will be able to increase their production, meet the country's food needs and maintain environmental balance.
