Tropical moths and butterflies

in Photography5 years ago (edited)

Good day everyone!

Today I want to share just a few of the moths and butterflies I have managed to photograph while in Costa Rica - I love how furry and colourful they are. I find them so fascinating and truly beautiful. While some are tiny - others have wings as big as my hands!

The first time you run into the really big ones they absolutely take your breath away! This one below has a body the size of a giant raspberry and the same colour. I awoke to find it outside my bathroom window and it slept there for some hours allowing me to get close up with my camera. Each of its wings was bigger than my hand. It belongs to the family of Giant Silk Moths.
