I used the cheapest one and would go for a minimum of paint (paint + water only)
You can pour on paper, cardbox, just what you have.
I worked on a smile fining table and the oast 3 days I used a small spit of the wirking space next to the sink in the kitchen. It's about 50 * 50 cm at most
If you pour the paint directky on the canvas you can save the pouring in a cup. You can aldo pour in a mould like a toilet paper roll or a biscuit mould.
Use your vinger, a knife, peace of plastic to swipe.
I advice to use a minimum of liquid paint (thickness like honey) and if the edges aren't covered you pour a bit at the sites.
You can make it as expensive as you like. With just basic colours you can make all colours but black/white and 1-2 colours is also enough
If you have something like a plastic container or tray under your object (put it on something so a bit higher) then you can reuse what you have in excess paint
