Poor Results if You Pour Paint?

The test with the old, thin acrylic (spoiled?) paint nearly came to an end. I added water, dish detergent, WD40 and iridescent but there was not one single thing that activated cells. No matter if it was freshly made or stood overnight ir for days.

Btw, the titanium white and black were newly bought (Action.nl). I read some say that cheap paint is hard (impossible?) to activate due to a lack of pigment. True?

I am not super fond of cells, but would like to use it at certain spots instead I will figure out something else which will look (or create) the same idea as celks can. I find it hard to believe that 'success' if it comes to creating art depends on the expensive tools and liquids bought.

Back to basics... Black and white. I still have left in the little bottles. Paint I made more fluid with water about 60:40.

  • The canvas I bought was already primed with gesso 3 times according to the label.

  • All you need to do is pouring the paint on the canvas (dirty pour) or if you like you can use a beker and fill it with layers. I did that this time but if you ask me it's a waste of paint + beker (you have to clean it). I left the beker a while upside down.

  • I placed the canvas on 4 bekers (I bought them about 14 years ago for the unbirthday party - theme Alice in Wonderland) to pick it up easier to move the paint, turnthe canvas, let it dry (backside included) and it's still there till I will varnish it.

  • I did not only pour with the beker, I also added more paint from the bottle at the sides and used my vingers to create some extra touches (see at the top). Some water or a tap at hand is recommended if you like to keep your place clean.

If you pour with paint too I live to see what you created.
Btw, it's posissible to pour animal, flowers or whatever you like. By now I I threw away two canvases because they fell apart.
I believe I will skip to paper again. It's easier to use, can be primed if wanted and awesome art can be created with it (best if all no easel needed).

A plus of pouring paint is you don't need brushes, just rime to prepair the paint, pour, move/tilt the canvas and... clean up.

The second

  • primed canvas
  • left black
  • metallic acrylic - gold
  • beker - filled with layers

Note: I added drops of black afterwards. Next time I use metallic gold I will work on a black background.

..I remember again the frozen clouds of smoke and the splash of my fantasy))

By the way, a long time ago I saw videos of different paints being poured onto the surface of some liquid (perhaps even water), and various complex patterns appeared on the surface. Then the person took the sheets of paper and applied them to the surface from above.
Someone used this method to create exclusive wallpapers for themselves. But I never tried it))

====================

The patterns show if the paint poured differs in thickness but also due to celks. I am not too fond of cells but like to see them in snakes.

Interesting extra can be covering it with wet napkins and pat it lightly and next remove it.

With foil can also give an interesting result. For sure there are more ways. Painting, poured or not, can always give surprising (disappointing) results. A but tinding, blowing, twisting, wet finger can do magic too.

♥️🍀

I agree, cellular wallpaper is not what I would like to see on my wall. But someone likes it. You can certainly choose patterns in shape and color there and get an original result.

I also like the ways of coloring T-shirts, when they are rolled up into bundles, and then dipped in different coloring solutions))

That reminds me of batik and all those great artistic things I did at primary school.
