Pouring Paint - Expensive?

Brushes aren't needed to pour paint, the same counts for canvas. You can pour acrylic paint on tiles, paper, wood, glass, plastic.

Needed:

  • acrylic paint (the cheapest works)
  • water
  • cup or bottle to mix
  • something to stir (stick, spoon, fork or whatever you like)
  • canvas/paper/glass/stone/wood or...

Acrylic paint can be washed off! So don't throw away cups.

Acrylic paint + water can create great cells as well.

Plastic bottles saved
Old acrylic paint affectef by the cold.
It's not too thick

One tube per bottle plus the same height of water
(no scales needed)

Shaking worked I measured with the stick + used it to check the paint.

If paint has the same pour thickness it's the best.
My brown was thicker I left it that way.
Pour paint in a cup or directly on the "canvas".

I hate spoiling paint.
I poured it on the paper (watercolour + gesso) and tilted it.

The edges weren't covered.
I did it with different colours poured from the bottle.

The bit of spoiled paint? I used it for the next background.

  • It depends on where you live how long it takes to dry.
Count with an average of 3-7 days.
  • Paper will not dry equally, I placed it upside down to straighten it.
  • Colours can change into a bit more dull. A hairspray or varnish will bring it back. I didn't use it but might.

It's an interesting way to get an abstraction and then find a familiar image in it :)

This process can be controlled, but pleasant surprises always happen, everything is relative and all the more interesting.

Watching what happens or can be seen is the biggest fun. The worst is if you miss the moment and the picture disappears.😕

I agree. This method is well demonstrated in photographing flames of fire or smoke. Different images and associations are constantly emerging. Sometimes the shutter speed is not enough to capture exactly that moment. But you catch something else and you find something interesting in it too))

I was wondering about the cost, wastage and space when I was watching some related videos.

I used the cheapest one and would go for a minimum of paint (paint + water only)

You can pour on paper, cardbox, just what you have.

I worked on a smile fining table and the oast 3 days I used a small spit of the wirking space next to the sink in the kitchen. It's about 50 * 50 cm at most

If you pour the paint directky on the canvas you can save the pouring in a cup. You can aldo pour in a mould like a toilet paper roll or a biscuit mould.

Use your vinger, a knife, peace of plastic to swipe.

I advice to use a minimum of liquid paint (thickness like honey) and if the edges aren't covered you pour a bit at the sites.

You can make it as expensive as you like. With just basic colours you can make all colours but black/white and 1-2 colours is also enough

If you have something like a plastic container or tray under your object (put it on something so a bit higher) then you can reuse what you have in excess paint

(Pouring Paint - Expensive?)Some people claim to be millionaires, but my opinion is this: there will always be someone else who is much wealthier than the person who claims to be a millionaire. Wealth, like many things in life, is relative. So, for some, the answer to this question would be "no," but for others, it would be "yes."

True, it is relative and wealth.. You cannot take it with you into your grave which makes property a waste of time + energy.

It is NOT a waste of time as it is left for the family members who will in turn benefit from this.

Why on earth should I work my arse of for family to give them a luxury life after my death and sacrifice myself?

I work constantly for my future, obviously when I die I will not take anything with me, at my age I already made my will, what I have so far already has an owner, obviously those who deserve something, if I do not think and work for my future,¿ then who? I do not see myself doing nothing, without goals, I have a car that I bought, an apartment that is mine, not many young people my age say the same, I am a visionary and I work for my well-being.

I understand what you say but the goal shouldn't be to work for those who live longer than you.

Fluid art?
Liquid art?
Mix-art?
What would you call the technique?
I like it. There's art in that experiment.

The first two are the same to me = paint pouring.

Mix art perhaps if some other paint ir techniques are used or sculpturing + paint pouring 🤷
Whatever people combine/try out is mixed art.
