Incredible India monthly contest of September #1| Basic Education!
Education is an individual's right; a society without education will experience backwardness and will find it more difficult to achieve its aims and objectives.
What do you understand by basic education?
Basic education is the formal education that a child begins at an early level, from pre-primary to lower secondary stage. It's the foundational stage that a child must need in order to improve their basic skills. Basic education is necessary for every child, not only for numeracy and literacy; it involves critical thinking and problem solving for some challenges, as well as continuing to learn different aspects of life, so that they can compete with their counterparts within their community and beyond.
Basic education is established to ensure that youth, as well as children in every sphere of life, improve their knowledge and attitudes, as well as develop essential skills that will help them achieve their potential goals.
According to you, what things should have been included in the basic education? Explain!
As the name implies, basic education is important for a child's upbringing so that children of all ages can meet the standard as well as be more competent in their respective disciplines.
➡️Basic education must include entrepreneurship skills so that students can be trained in different skills in order to be independent after they leave school. Skills like tailoring, painting, barbering, computer training, coding, phone repair, and more. If this is included in basic education, they can be self-employed without looking for government jobs. It's not just about having good grades; it's about how to make money in order to secure our future.
➡️It must also involve strategic thinking; this will help the students to think effectively so that they can know the root causes of problems that are happening in our society, and ways forward must also be implemented so that such problems will not occur again. Basic education must include this because we are in a society where crime has become rampant and the only thing to address it is through education.
➡️Basic education in Nigeria does not include foreign languages in its curriculum. Foreign languages such as French, Chinese, Spanish, and others must be taught to the younger generation so that they can be useful to them outside the country. Although it was included in our curriculum before, I don't understand why it was removed. Learning these foreign languages does not affect our own languages; in fact, it's an added advantage wherever we go on this continent.
➡️Basic education must also include good behavior toward elderly people. This can be accomplished through education, as we gain the respect of others so that people within the community can say good things about us, even in our absence. Basic education varies from our country to another, but good behavior must be taught in schools so that our children can become responsible persons.
Do you believe basic education plays a vital role in our growth? Explain how?
Yes, of course, basic education plays an essential role in our individual lives because it exposes children to prevent them from being cheated, helps them stay current, and allows them to observe what is going on in their society. Basic education assists children in achieving lifelong learning at an early age so that they do not fall behind like children whose parents do not value education.
Basic education also helps children to know what is right and wrong, so whenever they make a mistake, they can make adjustments within themselves. It's important to have basic education because it is a goal that needs to be achieved so that our lives can be bright and more relevant in our individual countries.
I would like to invite @rossnenye,@entity01 and @josepha to join me in this contest.
Upvoted! Thank you for supporting witness @jswit.
Nice article I must say
But in Nigeria here french and latin are being taught in some basic education level
Some schools do teach foreign languages
Check out my entry as well and tell me what you think too
But not all schools, those that teach foreign language are private schools that are so expensive. what I say is that both private and public must include it in their curriculum
