To answer this question, let us first look into the meaning of a best friend and a life partner:

• Who is the best friend? A best friend is the closest among friends who is trustworthy, faithful, honest, and who is always there for you through thick and thin. It is also a person who supports in cash and kind, always ready to tell you when you are right or wrong without fear or favour.
• Who is a life partner? A life partner is someone with whom you have a deep relationship, connection and who is willing to stay together for a long period or for the rest of your life, which can be through marriage.

Yes, a best friend can become a good life partner. This is because you have been together, you know your strengths and weaknesses, and you have made a lot of sacrifices for one another, you have studied the temperament of each other and above all, you are ready to stay together as life partners, which means more commitment.

Yes, I believe that friendship and becoming a life partner are distinct because:

• Friendship forms the basics and or foundation of a good and healthy relationship. It helps the people concerned to understand each other and know how best to satisfy each other and live happily.
• Partners complement the areas of their weaknesses as a result of the knowledge they had during their friendship.
• It also brings about strong emotional intimacy as it helps partners share their thoughts and concerns.
• It encourages personal growth and development: With friendship, partners support each other's personal development in terms of academics, profession, life goals and so on.
• It also builds confidence among partners.
