Hello steemians, it is a pleasure to share my ideas with you all. The advancement in technology also calls for proper use of technology, as individuals tend to misuse technology, which causes harm both physically and psychologically. If you have been robbed on the internet, you can have prolonged trauma and depression, which can further develop into loss of memory known as amnesia.

Do you believe advanced technologies open the door to advanced crimes? Your viewpoint.

The more the advancement in technology the higher the rate of crime in the world. I certainly believe that advanced technology opens a door for advanced crimes, as technology evolves with the creation of new devices and gadgets which can be used for a proper standard of living, new weapons are also created to ensure that they're accurate security everywhere. The fact is that advanced technology opens a door to advanced crimes. This is because the gadgets that were created have been used by unauthorized individuals and for the wrong purposes.

There was one time when a senator in my area was going around the state to perform some official duties on his way, and he was attacked by bandits. The bandit shot one of the senator's bodyguards in the leg, the guard fell to the floor in pain and pretended that he was dead. The bandits then began to shoot at his car, but no bullet could penetrate because the car was bulletproof. This helped the senator escape the bandits. You can see that with advanced crimes comes advanced security, this will help bring a balance and also improve security to meet up with the advancement of technology.

Just take a look at the high rate of cybercrime, investors, entrepreneurs, government agencies, and web developers often fall into scams set by hackers that steal valuable information about people, sometimes used for blackmail and sometimes to ruin people's careers. Most scammers come by making you believe that you are going to learn how to make money online, whereas it was all a fantasy.

They will start by making you believe everything they do before making you pay a certain amount of money, telling you that nothing comes for free, and also offering you discounts which doesn't even exist, all this to extort money from individuals who sometimes hardly feed. This increases the rate of crimes, poverty, and mental health issues for individuals who can't bear losing their hearts to earn money, and to individuals who will make use of it anyhow.

Do you believe we need an antidote before launching any technology? Justify.

Having an antidote or a mitigation plan before launching any technology is of great advantage, though it helps reduce potential risks and hazards that can be caused by the misuse of technology. Making sure that they're an antidote before launching can help prevent crimes, damage to life and property, and likewise health care.

Through the creation of an antidote, the public can trust and also be trustworthy in making use of this technology, helping in the less loss of infrastructure and a lower standard of living.

I will conclude by saying that it is not essential that antidotes should be made before a particular technology can be used. It suggests that they should be balanced between innovation and caution.

This means that technology should be handled with care, also allowing it to perform its full function. In the creation of goods by manufacturing industries, air is being polluted, and they must be air pollution in the production process. There is no way the smokes that contaminate oxygen can be directed to a particular area, because it will cause that place to become unusable, reducing the creation of infrastructure and development.

And society's view of cybercrime.

Here is how we can educate both the society and old family members about cybercrime:

For older family members

  • The pros and cons of cybercrime should be explained to our elders in a manner they will understand.

  • They can have better education when they are told about the everyday consequences of cybercrime, for example, fake phone calls and unauthorized agencies, to help in the efficient illustration of cybercrime tactics.

  • elders can be educated about cybercrime, by showing them a way of creating strong password, like combining digits and letters (upper & lower case) making it hard for hacker's to penetrate, also educating them about legit link's and sites, telling them to avoid unnecessary ads which pop up on their screen.

  • Advise them to seek assistance from you or anyone they trust if they stumble across things they don't understand on the internet.

For society

  • The society can be educated about cybercrime through the organization of seminars and workshops to aid individuals with the knowledge they need not to fall into scammers, letting individuals know of the preventive measures and risks.

  • Awareness programs should be launched that focus on a strategy of tackling cybercrime from the local level. This can be done through mass media, social media, and community events that can foster outreach to a large audience.

  • The community should collaborate with local authorities, like the police, FBI, EFCC, and other law enforcement agencies, and cybercrime experts to help tackle cybercrime and provide valid information and resources to the public.

  • I suggest that cyber safety education should be included in the school curriculum and community programs, since almost everything in the world is done digitally.
