UNIVERSITY WITH OVER 235 INFECTED STUDENTS WITH HIV
University of Port Harcourt Located at the city of Port Harcourt in Nigeria is a prestigious university that has rise so many stars, business gurus, successful entrepreneur and lots more. It is the most successful university that has stayed and ranked the best in South-South region of Nigeria but in 2021 over 235 students were tested of HIV from the ages of 16- 39.

It raised an alarm leaving the parents to start questioning and asking were they got it wrong, to further to stop the spread and ensure that the ones not infected are safe from contacting this virus, the University implore seminars teaching students the risk, prevention and the need to get tested immediately a person starts noticing the symptoms. Free medical checkups was introduced to ensure every one is checked.
Counselling was employed to know how this teenagers end up with this deadly virus, it was found out that majority of them was involved in early sex. And some of them don't even know how it came about, possibly through use of sharp objects used by another person.
Seminars was held across the state to sensitize the youth that this Virus is not a myth or a make up story, it is real and parents were advised to take up parental responsibility to teach their children what they need to know sexually. since then the rate of HIV has drastically reduce and students live with that awareness.
