What do you understand by basic education?

Basic education is beyond classroom subject curriculum, it has gone beyond that. We live in a world that is doubly hinged on survival of the fittest as though we are all in a primate fight. This means our horizon for basic education should span beyond courses like maths or English, important as they are, but now delve deeper into life as we know it in practicality.

Basic education are the basics of things children should be taught about. The basic of knowledge on all walks of life both physical, personal, intellectually,human communication,skills, the list goes on to help the individual navigate through life more smoothly.

According to you, what things should have been included in the basic education? Explain!

Some of the things that should be included in basic education are:

1. Critical Thinking Courses: Subjects or real life simulations that will help the kids to think out of the box to provide solutions to issue though at their levels. This will build in them the ability to critically find ways to solve issue beyond what they can see.

• How to defend oneself in case of an attack. Combat training, Kung Fu, boxing classes, and swimming lessons are some of the things that should be included in basic education.
• First Aid: Medicinal herbs and medications too for basic ailments at least. That knowledge can save a life till medical persons arrive

The world we live in is too dangerous for children not to be taught self defense skills as part of basic education.

1. Financial Literacy Courses : This goes beyond knowing that 1+1 equals 2.
   Here the children are taught on wealth creation. Money management, wealth retention and multiplication. This may look like a lot to teach a child as basics but I've from experience seen that whatever you teach to kids, will build up over time.

Do you believe basic education plays a vital role in our growth? Explain how

Yes. while giving children the basics knowledge to navigate with, it broadens their scope and view of life knowing that there is a lot more they're going to encounter out in the world.
It helps them build awareness so they're not overtaken by things or situations that basic knowledge of would have sorted out.
It also helps to build a hunger for more knowledge as the more you know, the better equipped you are to face life's trials and challenges.
