The world does not speak to me in words, it speaks in colors and I gladly listen.
From the moment I open my eyes in the morning, the sky greets me with a blue color, like the calm voice of a dear friend. That shade of sky blue feels like a promise that says, “Today will be gentle and soft.” It reminds me of lying on the grassy field just as a child gazing and tracing the clouds with my eyes and imagining they were ships sailing across the sky. That blue holds the laughter of those days, the innocence of believing that the world was endless and kind, but is this true?

As the sun rises higher, the greens around me come alive. Green is more than a color; it is nature’s whisper that life will always return. It is the sweet scent of new leaves after the rain, the tender greens that push their way through stubborn soil. Whenever I feel worn out by life, I think of green, which tells me, “You have been tired before, and you have bloomed again. You will bloom again so push just like the new leaves.”

Then there is yellow, a bright, unapologetic yellow. The kind that spills from sunflowers and dances on the edge of golden fields. Yellow is laughter after a long silence, the joy that refuses to be hidden even when you try hard. I’ve seen yellow on days when the rain seemed endless, on a child’s raincoat, on the painted doors of an old house, on cups of steaming tea shared with family. It is warmth in the middle of cold seasons, and it has taught me that joy can be found even when skies are grey.

Red is a different story. It is the sunset that takes my breath away yet leaves me with a quiet ache. It is love in its fullest flame, and also the color of parting, it's just a two-way thing. I remember a red scarf I once owned, given to me by someone I loved deeply. That red held both the warmth of their presence and the weight of their absence. Red has a way of staying with you, like a memory you cannot completely let go. Even till now, I still feel bold with red.

There are softer colors like pinks and oranges that float in the sky at evening.
They are brief, almost delicate, like secrets shared between day and night that would no longer be secrets by morning.
These colors remind me that beauty often exists in moments we can't keep forever, of course beauty fades away.
That's why I take a moment to watch the sunset when I can, because in those fading times, I see life's quiet truth: everything changes, but that doesn't make it any less beautiful.

Colors mean more than what my eyes perceive, they are what my heart remembers.
They hold the scent of past days, the faces of loved ones, and the dreams I still pursue, which is my tomorrow.
When life feels burdensome, I seek them out in the way sunlight spreads across a floor, in the blue of the evening sky, in the green of a single leaf with dew.
And each time, they remind me of the same truth: in nature's palette, there will always be a shade that offers hope.

Why I chose this poem

color-5821297_1280.jpgsource

I decided to write this piece because I felt colors are more than mere visuals; they tell emotional, love, and sweet stories. Every shade in nature holds meaning, memories, and feelings, and I wanted to delve into how these colors relate to human experiences.

Just like the light blue of the morning sky symbolizes peace and innocence, reminding us of simpler times. Green nature shows us hope and renewal, a color that tells us life can come alive again after difficulties. Yellow represents joy and resilience, illustrating that happiness can be seen even in dark times.

Red embodies both love and loss, containing the warmth of passion and the pain of goodbyes. The gentle pinks and oranges of sunsets remind us of the transient nature of beauty, teaching us to cherish moments before they disappear. I wrote this piece to illustrate that colors are not just visible, they are experienced.

Your words paint feelings as vividly as the colors themselves and each shade becomes a memory, a truth, a heartbeat. Truly, this is poetry that makes the soul see and feel...wish you all the best friend.
