From a personal perspective, I prefer to maintain a distinction between my close friendships and my romantic relationships. Your best friend understands your strengths and weaknesses very well and hence will not be very judgmental, and it will be mutual, if you are marrying your best friend, that person is also marrying Her's or his best friend, so it goes both ways.
The understanding between the two will be perfect. And I also believe that the relationship will be very playful, and not become a very serious one where communication sometimes becomes a barrier.
Marriage and friendship are two different things but they can beautifully weave into one another and create a very special relationship of trust and compassion. There will be understanding, there will be reasoning and moreover there will be compassion for one another.

friendship is far beyond becoming life partners. There are people that are best at just been your friends and nothing more.
There many male friends I have but if you ask me to choose them as my life partner I would object to it. I feel they do not have qualities I want in a life partner. I know them well enough to have seen all of their parts good, bad and ugly. So I just prefer to have them as friends.
I believe marriage is forever therefore if I want to have a partner I should choose what I can handle, I mean the character qualities. Friendship maynot be for ever and your friend may not even be living with you but you see your partner, you both will live together so friendship is distinct.
I appreciate the author's practical perspective and I find myself in full agreement with her insights. If I were to participate, I would emphasize several key points. Our vulnerabilities can sometimes be exploited by those closest to us; while it may be easier to maintain distance from a friend under such circumstances, dealing with these challenges in the context of a life partner can prove to be significantly more difficult.
