If there is actually something I have come to learn about this life, it is the fact that we will continually keep learning as far as we are still alive. Life is always filled with so much lesson and most shocking thing is those lessons comes to us unexpectedly. There are some profound lessons that we will continually keep learning day by day.

Today I will like to share with us one of the life lessons that I was able to pick this year and most of the time, whenever I reflect on these particular lesson, it makes me to always remember that life is so short and we should just value everyone.

Many years ago, something happen which made me to travel to Abuja from Kwara state. Of course I made use of the public bus because that was what was available according to my budget. The driver in which I enter the bus was driving so fast and rough just as others driver usually do. There was a particular point we get to, traffic hit us hard and so we need to stop somewhere.

Everyone of us was sweating in the 18 seater bus and we were actually complaining of the time going because virtually everyone of us want to get to where we are going rapidly. Inside the bus, I looked beside and I saw someone as he looks so calm even though everyone of us was complaining.

I tried to engage with him. After having short conversation with him, I discovered that he said he lost his wife many years ago and not only his wife but also his three children he gave birth to. Virtually he lost all his family to car accident. He was telling me of how much pain that cost him that even till now he is still yet to recover from the tragedy.

At that point, I was actually lost in words because I didn't even know what I should use to comfort him because I was actually putting myself in his shoe. As he was speaking, there was something that dropped in me and that is the fact that "Life is not about how fast you run, but about how well you live while running"

After the encounter with that man and until now, I have always learnt to appreciate life and everyone around me because I didn't know what might happen in the nearest future. Not only that, it taught me that I should always appreciate life because I learnt that day that life is short. That incident also always made me to live life with so much gratitude and happiness.
