Spending Time on Right Game:Steem Pong

When I first start Steem Pong, I was thinking it is very simple game. Just a paddle, one ball and some bouncing walls. But when I play, I realize it is not that easy. It looks simple but it give real challenge. And this challenge is the reason I like it.

The paddle is small and the ball is moving fast. In this, I have to let ball bounce and do not let fall down. In start I was very relaxed, like I can handle this. But slowly the ball become faster and angles become more crazy. I was moving my paddle left and right in speed, my hands on keyboard and my heart also beating fast.

In my one round, I got 175 points, in another I manage to reach 196 points. For me it was good score. Every time the ball touch the paddle, I feel little victory. Every point going up make me happy. It feels like I am fighting with myself, to beat my own high score.

But honestly, the moment when the ball slips and I lose life, it was painful. That Game Over screen hit different. In last game, when I was at 196, I was dreaming maybe I will cross 200 this time. I was so close, but then the ball miss and it was finish. For one second I was sad, but then I smile. Because this is the real fun of Steem Pong. It makes me lose but also force I to start again.

What makes the game exciting is the speed and pressure. I cannot blink my eyes. If I look away for even one second, ball is gone. That pressure is same like real life, where one mistake can cost me. So for me, Steem Pong is not only a small retro game. It is like a test of focus and patience. I also love the small things inside game. The Steem logo balls, the little clock icons, they give extra fun. It feels like old retro games, where design is not heavy but gameplay is full of energy. This retro style makes me emotional also, remind me of childhood when I play simple but addictive games.

Each day, when I get higher score, I feel good. When I lose, I feel motivate to try more. This combination of happiness and frustration is the beauty of steem pong. This is not only winning, this is about journey of excitement and the challenge. So, my experience with Steem Pong is very special. I enjoyed each second. From first bounce to last game over screen. I will playing, and next time I will cross this 200 mark. Today, my score is 196 will stay as a sweet memory and a challenge for myself.
