Prove yourself as the best artist for the week — Ball pen Art

I decided to do a grand comeback to art.
And I guess for some of you, this is the first time you're coming across my artwork. You're permitted to stare and say "wow"
Not here for any competition, just art.😩😂

So, made a drawing of a cartoon boy with a squirrel as his pet.

This drawing took me about 3 hours.
Not easy because it pen art.
Harder than colour painting or some pencil art.

HOW I MADE IT

PREPARATION AND SKETCH

I always use a ball pen brand known as *Big.
It's very good for shading. I recommend for you too.

I imagined a person with his pet, I thought about a standing posture, facial expressions, and overall mood I wanted to convey. Which is smiling and the pet being scared.

I Selected a suitable paper for pen art, which is white , smooth and of good quality. White colour paper is always good for pen art.

I lightly sketched the basic shapes of the person and pet using a pen.
Normally, I'm supposed to use a pencil to sketch. But I didn't want to waste time. I also considered the proportions and placement on the paper.

I drew a rough outline of the head, body, arms, and legs.

For the pet, draw a rough outline of the head, ears and tail.
I refined the sketch by adding more details to the boy and pet. Considering the facial features, hair, clothing, and textures.

For the boy, I added facial features which are the eyes, nose, mouth, and hair. Define the clothing and accessories.

For the pet, I added details like eyes, nose, mouth, and fur textures.

SHADING

I used e hatching, cross-hatching, and stippling techniques to create shading and tones in the artwork.

I added d depth and dimension to the boy and pet by creating shading and tones.
Considering the light source, I adjust the shading accordingly.

I Made my final adjustments to the artwork, ensuring everything was in proportion and looked balanced.
I also checked for mistakes and areas that needed improvement. Like the eyes and the hairs of the pet which I did extra detailing.
Add any final details or textures.

I couldn't wait to finish the shading as I already wrote my username on the paper.
