Hello, fellow Cricket Enthusiasts,

You already know that I am sharing a weekly wrap-up of what's happening within the Cricket community. And it's the 110th edition now.

As I discussed in the last weeks, we conclude the Asia Cup 2025, India became the champions defeating Pakistan in the finals. And now we are back to the usuals. So, let's see what's going on!

Afghanistan vs Bangladesh in UAE, 2025

  • Just after the Asia Cup, the two teams met for 3 ODIs and 3 T20S. The T20I series is already over, with a clean sweep for Bangladesh. Anyway, Afghanistan came up strongly in the ODI series to do the same for Bangladesh.

  • The first match was held at Sheik Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi. Bangladesh started the batting. Eventhough they lost a few wickets early, Towhid Hridoy and Miraj had a century partnership scoring fifties. Anyway, after their wickets, Bangladesh eventually balled out for just 221 runs. Azmatullah and Rashid took three wickets each.

Gurabaz and Zadran had a 50 partnership starting the chase, and Gurbaz scored a fifty as well. After two quick wickets, Rahmat Shah contributed with another fifty. Even though there were a few wickets along the way, Shahidi and Azmatullah brought the team home with 5 wickets remaining.

  • Wicket felt different in the next match. Afghanistan batted first and just managed 190 runs. Only Ibrahim Zadran made a valuable contribution of 95 runs. And the chase from Bangladesh was even worse. Starting from the first over by Azmatullah, they started losing wickets, and only two players could have 20+ scores. They were all out for 109 runs, Afghanistan won by 81 runs. Rashid Khan took a fifer.

  • The third match was even more shocking. In tough conditions, Afghanistan managed a brilliant score of 293/9. Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran had a 92 partnership at the start, and the rest also carried that momentum well. Unfortunately, Zadran got out for 95 runs consecutively. With a quick cameo of 62 runs from Nabi, it was easy for them to reach that total.

Looking for a big chase, it was just humiliating. For the second time in a row, they were bowled out before 30 overs, and this time it was just 93 runs. Saif Hassan managed 43 runs; no other batsmen crossed double digits. Bilal Sami TOOK A FIFER AND Afghanistan won by 200 runs.

  • It was a clean sweep from them. Zadran won the man of the series.

West Indies tour of India, 2025

  • The two teams are meeting for a two-test series. And the misery continues for the West Indies.

  • The second match was held at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi. India batted first, and it was just a clear dominance. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Rahul started with 58 58-run partnership. Then Sai Sudarshan joined Jaiswal to form a 193-run partnership. The former scored 87 runs, while Jaiswal played a gem of an inning of 175 runs. Shubman Gill added another 129 runs. So, India declared the first inning for 518/5 in 134.2 overs.

West Indies was already in the back foot. Eventhough the batters got a few starts, they had to end the first inning for 248/10. Kuldeep Yadav took a fifer. After inviting for a follow-on, they fought hard. John Campbell scored 115 runs as the opener, and Shai Hope scored 103 runs. Justin Greaves and Chase gave useful contributions, as they scored 390/10.

Eventhough they tried hard, their first inning score hurt the West Indies. India chased a 120-run target with 7 wickets remaining.

  • India won the series 2-0. Ravindra Jadeja was the man of the series.

South Africa tour of Pakistan, 2025

  • It's a big series of 2 Tests, 3 ODIs, 3 T20S from Oct 12 - Nov 08.

  • The first test match was held at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore. It's a tricky surface, and Pakistan batted first after winning the toss. The batters played well, scoring 378/10 in the first inning. Imam-ul-Haq, Massod, Rizwan, and Salman Agha contributed with fifties. Senuran Muthusamy was the key baller for South Africa with 6 wickets.

South Africa's first innings was restricted to 269/10 thanks to the Pakistan ballers led by spinners. Noman Ali took 6 wickets while his partner Noman Ali took 3. Tony de Zorzi scored a century while Ricklton scored 71 runs.

Anyhow, Pakistan's second inning was just 167/10. Once again, Muthusamy took a fifer, while Hermer took 4 wickets. South Africa needed 276 runs for the victory, but the fourth-inning chase was so tricky. They could only score 183 runs. Pakistan won by 93 runs.
