Ibom Golf Club - Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort Uyo, Akwa Ibom State

Crafted in the middle of the Akwa Ibom tropical rainforest is the Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort. A perfect destination where sports, hospitality, luxury and nature meets. For the course of this contest, I will be writing just about the golf club in the resort.

The Ibom golf resort was established and opened in 2007. The golf club is one of the best places to go to in Akwa Ibom state. It has an 18-hole golf course and it is home to the Ibom golf course which allows a lot of professional golf players to have a lovely time for recreation and leisure.

During the game

On my visit to the golf course some time back, I offered to take pictures of some professional players who were playing golf. It was a nice experience. At some point I was allowed to touch the club and make a hit of the ball. Before then, I wasn't a 'golf person' but being there made me enjoy the sport.

The feel from the rain forest and the chirping from birds made it so calm and enjoyable. I could hear the sound of every hit of the ball from far away. Going from one hole to the other wasn't an easy feat. I got tired at some point. And there are a lot of seats and shades to sit down for a while. This made the walk more enjoyable. We had a break time for snacks too.

At the end of the game, we went to return the club and balls at the store/bar. There were cleaned up and stored in their place. In the bar, I met a lot of golfers who came to play the sport. It was a nice and wonderful time there.

Heard there was a tournament ongoing and people from different states in Nigeria came to play. It was great seeing people from all walks of life coming to play the sport in Ibom golf resort.

The golf course also has good irrigation to keep the field ever green. The course has one of the best fields in Nigeria

The golf club opens by 7am daily and closes by 8pm except on Tuesdays. The golf club doesn't open to the public on Tuesdays, as Tuesdays are meant for maintenance of the golf course. But the restaurant opens 24 hours daily. And it is a great relaxation centre.

The Ibom golf club is located in the outskirts of Uyo at Uruan Local Government Area. It boasts a total of 174 hectare of land. The golf club can be located easily from the centre of the city. It's a 20-30 minutes ride from the airport. 20 minutes ride also from the centre of Uyo which is the Ibom plaza. It is a straight road down from the city.
