Beautiful Phuket | Part 2 | Patong Beach and Bangla Road

in Steem Sri Lanka10 hours ago

During our vacation, we spent three days in Phuket. I’m going to split our time in Phuket into multiple parts to better cover the wide range of information about the places we visited, modes of transportation, and prices.

In this second chapter, I’ll share our walk to Patong Beach and Bangla Road.

Patong Beach was just 350 meters walking distance from the hotel we stayed at, so we could easily walk to the beach in the evenings.

Patong Beach is a famous tourist spot with a wide sandy shore and various exciting activities. You can find people offering water sports like jet skiing and parasailing right on the beach.

Many people were enjoying a peaceful evening there. Most importantly, as with most beaches in Thailand, you may need to pay 100 Baht to use a sunbed.

Compared to the beaches we see every day in Sri Lanka, Patong Beach wasn’t very different, so we didn’t spend much time there.

On the other side of the road, we found several spas, street food stalls, hotels, and travel service provider shops. You can grab seafood snacks or fresh juices from the stalls. We continued walking toward Bangla Walking Street and stopped by a Starbucks. Unfortunately, there are no Starbucks in Sri Lanka, so we tried it out for the first time.

While heading toward Bangla Road, we also stopped by the famous Patong letter board and, of course, captured some cool pictures.

We waited a while until Bangla Road became lively. The road is filled with clubs, people holding signs for various shows, and cannabis shops. However, it wasn’t as wild as social media often shares, maybe we were there a bit early.

Eventually, we made our way to the end of the road (which is actually the main entrance) and reached Jungceylon Mall.

That’s where Harith found a relaxing massage chair. He took a 30-minute massage for 20 Baht and said it was very soothing for his spine.

On our way back to Bangla Road, we stopped at the street food area to grab dinner. That’s where we tried Pad Thai for the first time and I loved it. Thai food is always delicious!

After soaking in the vibrant atmosphere, we walked back to the hotel.
