Entertainment Blog #327 | Hurry Up Tomorrow [2025] : A Singer's Trauma...
"The Weeknd" is one of the most talented singers in the world stage right now. It's not just singing. He's a jack of all trades. He writes his songs, he compose music. And also he can act too. Not only in music videos, if you remember, about 2 years ago, he starred in the TV show, "The Idol" with Lily Rose-Depp. And now it's time for a movie.
"Hurry Up Tomorrow" is a #psychological #thriller #movie which is an alternated version of The Weeknd's real experience. Alongside him, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan plays main roles here. This movie wraps up his 2nd album trilogy which includes "After Hours", "Dawn FM" & "Hurry Up Tomorrow".
The story follows Abel Tesfaye, a famous talented singer who is having a tough time with relationships. His recent relationship has come to an end as the girlfriend stopped responding his texts or calls. With this, he had a hard time focusing in Action of the Stage.
Ans now, he's having some health issues with the throat, making it hard for him to sing. It's not just physical health but mental health also. But the concerts are piled up, like everyday. His manager Lee pushes him to the limits with drugs. In the meantime, a girl from a rural area named Anima, light up her house and escapes to the town and finds herself in the front row at a show of Abel Tesfaye.
At this show, his voice gets really bad and he stops singing at the middle. At that moment, Abel got caught eye of Anima, but it was just a glance. Right after Abel leaves the stage, Anima tricks some guards to get into the back of the stage, potentially to meet Abel. After being pissed at Lee, Abel leaves the place and accidentally meets Anima there are and the rest is history..
What I saw from the movie is traumatic experience of The Weeknd. The movie flows with his latest songs and it's an experience that The Weeknd fans could enjoy. So it's not everyone's cup of tea. And most of reviews are negative as many think it's just a work of art made to profit using the fame of The Weeknd.
