Entertainment Blog #341 | Deep Cover [2025] : Improvisors in Undercover...
Actors need skills more than acting skills. For example, if the actor is an action star, he should be familiar with martial arts and should improve his strength and flexibility. But that additional skill is only used for movies. But there are people who really use that skill to earn a living. Every guy who has acting ability and more won't be able to become a famous star. That's faith. But faith could send the opportunity in a different way..
While Netflix is going for more science fiction and crime stuff, Amazon Prime has produced some solid comedy movies in the past few months. And "Deep Cover" has a special place in it. It's a #comedy #crime #movie that was released on 12th June. The movie stars Bryce Dallas Howard (Kat), Orlando Bloom (Marlon), and Nick Mohammed (Hugh) as main characters. It has received solid ratings, which depict the solid feedback received from the VOD platforms.
Kat is originally a stand-up comedian, but since she struggles in it, she started teaching acting in London, which made her pay the bills. Marlon is a talented actor, but he hasn't had a chance to prove it, only in one marketing ad. And there's Hugh, who is a socially awkward IT guy, willing to improve his social abilities. So all these people meet at Kat's class.
In the interim, Detective Graham Billings is struggling to catch the drug lords in the town. He has come up with an idea of using improvisers to his mission as undercover since they can make others believe that they are someone else than a policeman can. That's why he contacted Kat for this. Since she was financially struggling and so was Marlon. Since they needed a 3rd guy, they had to go for Hugh.
Their first mission was to find the dealers of cheap cigarettes who keep selling in the city. There, they have to get into the business in order to identify the aces of the game. So will they succeed in the mission?? It's up to you to find out.
"Deep Cover" made me laugh on many occasions, and its twists and turns amazed me quite a few times. It's far better than I imagined. I'm pretty sure this movie will make you remember some characters from school or university times.
