International Day Democracy is celebrated around the world on September 15 every year. The main purpose this day is to make people aware of the importance odemocracy and spread the values justice, equality and freedom in society. The United Nations officially decided to celebrate this day in 2007 and since then the day has been celebrated in different countries world.

A simple definition of democracy is – rule by the people, for the people and by the people. That is, here the people are the main source power in the state. They elect representatives through votes and those representatives run the state in the interest people. In a democracy, everyone enjoys equal rights, no one is deprived and everyone can freely express their opinion.
