Learning how to fry Akara, Teaching my students and Write my lesson note.
On Tuesday, June 24, I found myself with a rare free period after teaching my morning class. As a diligent teacher, I decided to utilize this time wisely. My initial plan was to head to the school canteen to purchase Akara for my son, Princewill, and myself. However, upon arrival, I discovered that the Akara seller was still in the process of preparing the dish.

Seizing the opportunity, I asked if I could observe and learn from her. Akara is a traditional Nigerian breakfast food made from beans, usually combined with bread or pap, can still be eaten with combination. It has always fascinated me to know the process. The seller graciously agreed to share her expertise.
The first step involved measuring the right quantity of beans into a tray, followed by selecting and removing the chaff. Next, the beans were soaked for about an hour to soften them. After soaking, the beans were grated using a grating machine. The seller then added a small amount of water and stirred the mixture. To add flavor, she included salt, grated fresh pepper, Maggie seasoning, and sliced onions, stirring everything together thoroughly.

The final step was to heat groundnut oil in a frying pan for about 10 minutes. Using a medium-sized kitchen spoon, the seller scooped the partially liquefied bean mixture into the hot oil, allowing it to solidify and cook to perfection by changing from milky colour to brown.
Throughout the process, I took videos and photos for record purposes, eager to share my newfound knowledge with my good friends in the steemit world . After concluding my impromptu cooking lesson, I headed back to the classroom and enjoyed the delicious Akara with my son, Princewill.

During the break, I wrote my lesson notes and planned my work, effectively utilizing my free period to achieve two goals at once - learning how to fry Akara and fulfilling my teaching responsibilities.
