My Three Years Experience in Motherhood [Part 2]

As I sit here in my living room, reflecting on my journey as a mother, I am reminded of the countless moments that have made the past three years so unforgettable. In my previous post, I shared some of the lessons I've learned and the memories I've made with my little boy, Princewill.

In this article, I want to share another hilarious and relatable experience that had me laughing and nodding my head in recognition. Who else remembers the good old days when we were little and would do just about anything to get our favourite food?

I know I do! If my mom didn't make my favourite dish, I would pretend to be sick! My mom would whip up my favourite meal in no time. It's funny how history repeats itself, isn't it?

On July 3rd, Princewill, my three-year-old son, pulled the exact same stunt on me! His favourite meal is pap, but I had made beans and yam instead. He refused to eat the yam, and I, being the stubborn mom that I am, forced him to take a few bites. But he was not satisfied, and I knew he was craving his beloved pap.

About 20 minutes later, Princewill started shivering, and I thought to myself, "Ah-ah, what's going on here?" His body temperature was normal, and he had just finished his medication a few days prior, so I knew he wasn't actually sick. But then it hit me - he was pulling the same trick I used to pull on my mom.

I chuckle to myself as I quickly grabbed the pap from the fridge and started preparing it. Princewill's face lit up, but he was still pretending to be sick. I thought to myself, "This boy doesn't know that I used to be a master of this trick too!"

As soon as Princewill finished eating the pap, he started dancing and playing, and just like that, the "sickness" disappeared! It's been a few days now, and there's been no sign or symptoms of that mysterious illness.

This experience reminded me that motherhood is a journey of discovery, not just for our children, but for us as well. It's a journey of growth, laughter, and learning to navigate the ups and downs of parenting. And let's be real, it's also a journey of mastering the art of pretending not to know when our little ones are pulling a fast one on us.

Thanks for joining me on this motherhood journey, friends! If you have any similar experiences or stories to share, I'd love to hear them in the comments below.
