Pottery, the art of making pottery and other objects, is one of the oldest forms of art in human history. It has been around since the Neolithic Age and can be found in almost every culture in the world.
The earliest examples of pottery in antiquity date back to around 25,000 to 29,000 BC. A statue called the "Dolny Vestonys Venus" was found in the Czech Republic, which is made of terracotta.
During the Neolithic Age, pottery became widespread. People learned to make clay pots for food preservation and cooking.
Pottery played an important role in the development of civilization in the Indus Valley Civilization, Egyptian civilization, and ancient Greek and Roman civilizations.
In the Middle Ages, pottery developed further as a craft, and various designs and styles began to be created.
Nowadays, pottery is not only limited to making necessary items, it is also appreciated as an art form.
